Highlight of the month with a Guest Speaker and often followed by a casual lunch nearby. Coffee Mornings are normally held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Australia Centre on The Strand.
NEW MEMBER COFFEE MORNINGS
These are held periodically in an informal location to welcome new members or for those who are thinking of joining. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
AFTER HOURS & MENS GROUP
Meeting in a central London pub from 6.30pm means those who work can enjoy the bonhomie of the AWC. Those that want to, stay on for dinner.
The male partners of AWC members also join together for drinks at a pub with character followed by a meal at a nearby eatery.
We offer a wide range of activities covering antiquities, historical venues and interesting walks to discover the elusive secrets of London and its surrounds.
The group meets, with an art historian, on selected Thursdays for an introduction to the day’s theme before visiting a wide range of galleries or exhibitions around London.
This is a joint group with fellow readers from the New Zealand Women’s Association. It meets on the last Friday of the month and usually shares a light lunch afterwards.
A small friendly group familiar with the Andrew Robson method meets most Mondays and welcomes new players.
We have a newly formed small choir who meet weekly. The group is always looking for new members and we will have the opportunity to hear them perform during the year.
About once a month we watch films carefully selected from the latest blockbusters to art house cinema, at an afternoon showing, followed by a chat about the film afterwards.
The Foodies group meets around once a month at a cooking class, on a foodie’s tour around London, visiting a foodie hotspot, enjoying a special lunch or dinner, or, a range of other food related activities.
COUNTRY WALKS ‘N’ PARKS
Join us for country walks whether in a garden, along the river, or in a park. We offer an opportunity to explore the many interesting and beautiful walks found in parks in or outside London, with easy access via public transport.
If you are interested in knitting, sewing, dressmaking or embroidery please join us once a month in a member’s home. We also visit relevant exhibitions held in London or, sometimes in regional centers.
Several times a year our Theatre Coordinator will select a play for us to enjoy not always, but sometimes with an Australian or expat theme and sometimes with a talk afterwards by the Director or a Q&A with Director and some of the cast.
